Working from home

I love working from home!

My current office doesn't practice flexible work arrangement aka no part-time work, no flexi-hour, no compressed work week, no job sharing and no working from home. Well, at least not formally. I'm sure everyone does the flexi-hour thing cause not everyone comes in 8.30 sharp and leaves 5.30 sharp. And at some point, with the amount of time one spends on FB, youtube, 9gag and other websites, it is kind of "part-time" work too.

Sometimes I'm lucky enough to get the opportunity to work from home - when I have calls at odd hours, voluntarily work over weekends and public holiday for my office, but not the client's. That is when I get to enjoy working from home.

You enjoy waking up at 8.15, and still make it to your laptop to start work at 8.30.
You enjoy having your breakfast bought and being laid out ready for you on the table.
You enjoy missing the traffic jams and not having to look for parking.
You enjoy wearing shorts, a loose tee with no bra, instead of figuring what office outfit to put on.
You enjoy not having to put on makeup just so you look presentable to your colleagues.
You enjoy sitting with one leg on the chair.
You enjoy lunch being home-made and you don't have to spend money on it.
You enjoy skipping out on the evening traffic.
You enjoy eating dinner with your family at 6.30pm.

And the best part? Being able to get work done while enjoying all these! The only concern I have is my mum calling for me when I'm in a call. Wouldn't be nice if she calls me Cheeeee....yea.

I better enjoy this while it lasts. Cause even if my office were to practice flexible woking arrangement one day, working from home is usually for working mums who have to look after their kids or take care of someone (old parents).

Working from home option is not for one to enjoy all that I have listed down. If only, I can do more of this.

I love working from home!
